Revenue from the Las Vegas Strip is down, but the gaming industry has its eyes on the Internet for growth. South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas landed the first approval in Nevada history from the state gaming board for the rights to operate an online poker site from within the state. If all goes well for the company, a poker site could be up and running by October. If all goes really well for the industry, the move will spark a regulatory framework with strapped state governments eager for a piece of the pie.
